Doctors Check Up & Visit with Sweet Audrey !

I went to the doctor yesterday and here are the updates:

Spud's Heart Rate: 140

My Weight Gain: 4lbs (1 lb / week)

Countdown to feeling movement: 1-2 weeks

I actually heard the heartbeat this time, loud and clear ! Little spud seemed to have been doing some somersaults too because we were interrupted a few times by some back flips while we were listening for the heartbeat. The doctor said everything seemed to be right on track and that when we go back in 4 weeks we will have an ultrasound !! I told her I was impatient so I would be having the 4D ultrasound done on the 31st and she said that was fine, but not to be alarmed if it looks like my child has a growth on its head or something out of the ordinary because of the way the 4D camera pans it sometimes can make things look distorted... GLAD I GOT THAT WARNING.... you know me I would have been in a panic that something was wrong !

On Friday we went to visit Little Miss Audrey (and Ducky and Eric too of course)!

She is absolutely beautiful ! She really enjoys sleeping it seems, so hopefully when she gets home she will continue to get some rest so the new parents can too! I just love her so much and didn't want to put her down, I will definitely be planning another visit very soon !

I have a new craving... the chopped and topped salad from The Chocolate Covered Strawberry in Gallatin is the best salad I've ever eaten (the lasagna soup isn't too shabby either) !! You MUST try it if you're ever near!! To top it off, they give you a chocolate dipped strawberry for desert!

The Bump

OK,  I suppose I have avoided this as long as possible since I hounded my friend Ducky (being induced tomorrow !) so bad about posting belly pics. I must admit I'm a little apprehensive because I hear all these people who didn't show until they were 5 months pregnant or who could wear their pants (buttoned) until the were 4 months pregnant.... well, that's not the case here folks. I haven't gained any weight at all (which doesn't make much sense) but it pretty obvious that my body has become quite distorted!! I'm going to use the excuse that my torso is all of 3 inches long and therefore there is nowhere to go but out, if you know me, then I'm not embellishing this... my legs come up to my ribs and there's no torso there so this should be a very interesting growth process !!!

Well without anymore procrastination .... here it is... the 13 week belly.

How far along: 3 Months & 8 Days

Weight Gain: 0

Favorite Maternity Clothes: I'm still in my clothes their just modified with belly bands and flowy shirts!

Movement: I haven't felt any movement that I'm sure of... there have been few times that I thought... hmmm, what was that?

Cravings: Orange Juice, Ice cream
I cannot stand chicken!

Symptoms: I think the nausea has subsided ! I still have a few moments every now and then where I have to take a deep breath to keep from gagging, but for the most part that seems much better! I am asleep every night by 9 pm (totally out of character!) and when I say asleep we're talking Weekend at Bernie's OUT! I actually took my purse to bed with me last night with the intent to get something out of it and fell asleep clutching it...

What's Will up to: We bought a baby name book last week and no joke... he won't put it down ! He's had a lot more input and opinion about things than I thought. On our last Dr's apt (his first time to go) he was discussing on the way in that he thought my doctor was WAY TOO YOUNG (she is in her 30's) to know how to deliver a child. We walked to the elevator to go up to the office and he justified his apprehension by noticing that among all the doctors listed...she was not one of them, which prompted him to say "I mean is she even a real doctor", I assured him that she was and we continued. He was happy to see her name on the door with the title Dr. in front of it... once he met her I think he felt much better but I really thought he was going to make me change doctors for a second there!

Accomplishments: I think we are honing in on names for either gender ! We haven't really accomplished much else... waiting to see what we're going to be having!!

Things to do: Doctors Appointment on Monday July 19th & we find out the gender on the 31st !
Beyond that the list is endless !

Ok, I'm a little late, Becks' birthday was actually on July 4th and to be honest I feel like it should still be June... THIS MONTH IS FLYING ! I just wanted to wish this sweet little alligator (we've had some biting issues recently) a Happy Birthday! Birthday party pics to come !

FURNITURE !

We have our first purchase... technically my moms first purchase (bless her)! This should be here in about 4 weeks, just in time to decorate !!

As a side note, I have not lost my mind, and I know its no longer the eighties (as unfortunate as that is) but Ive decided that in the holiday spirit while we will be out enjoying the sun, water and fireworks I would play the music that makes me think of the younger years... these songs always take me back to those carefree days of sprinkler running, pool parties, and grill out gatherings. Have a great fourth ! Have no fear these songs will probably be up for a while.... gotta admit eighties music is one of my most treasured guilty pleasures!

Bye, Bye First Trimester!

Well I am on my way out of the first trimester and I highly doubt I will miss it! My doctor said that soon I should feel slightly human again as opposed to a nauseated zombie... so I can't wait for that! I am very excited that in 30 days we will know what we are having !!!! For my close friends you know me well enough to know that waiting have never been a strong suit of mine, I am not very patient and this is KILLING ME! I just want to start shopping and decorating already!! We scheduled a 4D ultrasound on July 31st and you better believe I have officially started counting down!

Don't get too excited though... I may have to keep it a secret until I decide whether or not to have a "reveal party" for our close friends and family. Usually I would just blurt it out as soon as I found out, but one of my sorority sisters had one and it was so adorable, so I guess we will wait and see !
